Wow I am lazy! I went to sleep last night (actually passed out!) around 230am, and didn't drag myself out of bed until 3pm today. But it is a lazy Saturday, so nyah. I love Saturdays where I don't have anything to do but watch NASCAR and eat cake, if I want to. Technically, I do have to finish those ratings for the YCT thing, but I am not feeling particularly pressured to have that done on time. Especially when the chair didn't even know they were due today.
I learned how to play cribbage last night! Pat taught me- and he taught me so well that I almost beat him once and did beat him the last time we played! Then I went on to beat him at Sorry! Of course the monopoly man kept saying I had resigned from the game so he could steal my points. Pat won a game too, I think. I was so tired I can barely remember anything.
I went back to chat last night, after being away almost a week. I don't know if it was because I was tired, or because I had been spoiled by the undivided attention provided by AIM, but it wasn't as much fun as it used to be. It's odd how the dynamic in there changes.

Date: 2001-07-14 03:30 pm (UTC)This is a classic case of selective Sorry! amnesia. It happens often to people who are so addicted to winning that they block out their losses. There are a few forms of treatment, but none of them work if the patient is unwilling to admit they have a problem.
(My favorite form of treatment is the one where the patient is forced to stand on top of a Sorry! board while singing old Judy Garland songs. Every fifteen minutes a team of psychiatrists come in, check were the pawns are on the boards, and then they applaud wildly the patient's singing. Clever psychiatrists send in munchkins during the patient's rendition of Wizard of Oz songs. Oh, life in the mental ward at MB. Every day is fun day. And fridays are casual days.)
In auto racing is it always the same guys racing? Or, do they pick and choose which races they do, and only at the big big races they are all there. Aside from rooting for Jeff Gordon's car to explode into flames without harming anyone else, do you do any rooting during the race? Do you watch the whole thing? How long are auto races?

Saturdays are the Busch series races and Sundays are Winston Cup series races. The Busch races are sort of the minor leagues, but some guys drive in both races. The Busch races are also shorter than Winston Cup.
Races usually last 3 or 4 hours, depending on how often they have to slow or stop the race to clear the track because of wrecks. I only watch the whole thing when I go to the track. Otherwise, I have it on in the background and check in with it occasionally. When not hoping Jeff Gordon runs out of gas or blows a tire, I cheer for Steve Park, Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick.
